How It Works
SPIROJET perforated ducts are composed of a series of one-meter modules, each comparable to a traditional high-induction diffuser.
The diffusion element is the perforation itself, which can be applied to any module regardless of the duct diameter.
The air exiting the holes induces ambient air at a rate generally 30 times higher than the volume of supply air.
By increasing the outlet velocity through the holes, it is possible to boost induction—often exceeding 50 air changes per hour (ACH)—although this may reduce the diffuser’s performance.
The diameter and number of holes applied to each SPIROJET module determine both its air throw capacity and its operating characteristics.
The design of a system using SPIROJET perforated ducts follows a traditional approach, distributing the ducts evenly in the upper part of the space according to the required airflow and the throw of each module—exactly as with all other types of diffusers.
Under normal operating conditions, the ambient air induced by the perforations ensures continuous ventilation of the duct’s outer surface, effectively preventing condensation formation.
The perforation layout of SPIROJET ducts is custom-calculated for each system using one of the most advanced CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) models available on the market, further enhanced by over thirty years of experience gained through the development of MIX-IND® technology.
SPIROJET perforated ducts deliver optimal performance under the following operating conditions:
Maximum recommended installation height for heating: 5 m
Maximum recommended air throw: 7 m
Optimal air velocity inside the duct: 5 m/s
Maximum ΔT during heating: 10 °C
Minimum supply air temperature: 12 °C
