How It Works
The perforated ducts using MIX-IND® technology are PULSORI® ducts that do not “throw” supply air into the treated area like conventional diffusers. Instead, they generate a “pressure field” along their axis, which sets the entire mass of ambient air in motion at the desired velocity.
The MIX-IND® ambient air induction technology is truly one of a kind, built upon 38 years of highly specialized experience, including 15 years dedicated specifically to research and experimentation.
Compared to traditional air diffusion systems using perforated ducts like SPIROJET or similar, systems with MIXIND® technology offer the following significant advantages:
• Homogeneity of temperatures, both vertical and horizontal, within ±1°C, regardless of the building’s height.
• Maximum comfort with optimal control of residual speeds in the occupied zone.
• Complete destratification, particularly for tall buildings, even over 40 meters in height.
• No return ducts, thus reducing pressure losses for fans, lower maintenance costs, less space, and reduced cost for ducts.
• Complete recovery of all endogenous heat generated in the room (motors, lighting, etc.).
• Applicable to both tall and low buildings without any loss in performance.
• Ease of avoiding large obstacles within the room.
• Ability to introduce low-temperature air directly into the room without comfort or condensation issues.
• Ability to achieve long throws (up to 100 meters), meaning fewer ducts to install, less weight on structures, less space taken up in the room, and a lower overall duct cost.
• The potential to significantly reduce the total system cost, thanks to the free ASSISTED DESIGN service, which may allow for optimization of the system’s airflow, particularly for large-volume buildings.
Next-generation systems are multifunctional MIX-IND® systems that incorporate patented QPE (Quality Performance Efficiency) technologies, delivering outstanding performance in terms of both energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
In each project, every individual PULSORE® serves a different function depending on the application type and the activities performed within the space, while also taking into account any specific system requirements.
System operation is fully customized through environmental diagnostics that identify the client’s needs.
In addition to the already remarkable performance of standard MIX-IND® systems, next-generation systems using MIX-IND® with Advanced Induction are the only ones capable of offering the following additional features:
-
Variable airflow from 20% to 100% via AHU fans, without any performance loss, enabling:
• Up to 80% reduction in fan energy consumption, as airflow adjusts to deliver only the required thermal power
• Lower filter replacement costs, due to reduced air volume processed
• Improved filter efficiency, thanks to decreased airspeed across filter media
• Reduced mechanical wear, increasing the lifespan of AHUs or operating hours of rooftop units -
Capability to run multiple AHUs or rooftop units on the same aeraulic circuit, enabling a variable-airflow system with alternating cascade operation of fixed-flow ventilation units
-
Variable comfort: a new comfort paradigm allowing clients to easily modify residual air velocity in the occupied zone at any time, depending on situational needs
-
Rapid space conditioning, delivering major energy savings and enabling the reduction or elimination of nighttime heating attenuation
-
Complete energy retrofit of all types of obsolete systems, without requiring full replacement
-
Extreme winter free-cooling, introducing cold outdoor air directly into the space (down to –15 °C) without condensation risk or comfort loss—ideal for systems with high internal heat loads
-
Further airflow reduction with Frozen Air technology, which allows for lower summer supply air temperatures under optimal conditions
-
Elimination of post-heating coils, enabling more precise control of indoor relative humidity
-
Maximum operational safety, ensuring continuity in case of failure of one AHU or rooftop unit
